The following links provide a list of several organizations and associations that UMMC holds memberships in and provide valuable services to the research community.

www.ManagingFederalGrants.com: is a guide to managing federal grants for colleges and universities, log in and look around. This site offers web access, monthly newsletters, Federal Agency Daily, government Documents, The site is co-sponsored by the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) and National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA), and managed by Atlantic Information Services, Inc. (AIS) in Washington, DC. Narrative chapters are updated quarterly. User name and password are available upon request to the Office of Research (5-5000)

www.Researchamerica.org: Research America, an alliance for discoveries in health, has a variety of tools to get you up to date on medical and health issues: advocacy initiatives, monthly newsletter, national and state public opinion polling data, U.S. Investment in Research reports, Economic Impact of Research Web tool and fact sheets, research partner forums and advocacy workshops.

www.aalas.org: American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS)
The mission of AALAS is to serve society through education and the advancement of responsible laboratory animal care and use. AALAS offers programs, products and services to promote responsible laboratory animal care and use. The AALAS certification program for technician and manager training is nationally recognized. Individual membership is available (Bronze level at $35.00/annually) that has the benefit of reduced fees for technician certification exams for all levels. Log-in password is provided with individual membership.

www.nabr.org: National Association for Biomedical Research (NABR)
NABR is a national non-profit organization that provides the unified voice for the scientific community on legislative and regulatory matters affecting laboratory animal research. This organization sends Biomedical research news via email every business day through their electronic newsletter 'Total E-Clips'. Contact the IACUC Office, ext. 5-5006, for placement on the e-mail list through UMMC's Institutional Membership.

www.citiprogram.org: Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI)
The CITI Program is a subscription service providing research ethics education to all members of the research community. The IRB and IACUC at UMMC utilize this service as the basis for member training. The web based educational program includes: Basic Courses in the Protection of Human Research Subjects, Good Clinical Practice Cours, Health Information Privacy and Security Course (HIPS), Laboratory Animal Welfare Courses for investigators and IACUC Members, Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR). To access On-line Training Courses: Open web browser. Enter CITI web address in the address bar: www.citiprogram.org ; Click on the link 'New Users' Register Here , From the 'Participating Institutions' drop down menu, select University of Mississippi Medical Center. Select a username and password. Follow the instructions, entering the requested information.

www.cos.com: Community of Science (COS)-resources for research
The Office of Research (OoR) subscribes to COS, an internet-based subscription service providing funding opportunities, faculty expertise profiles, matching/alerts, and other services. OoR's subscription allows access to and use of this service through any computer with a UM IP address; once registered in the system, users can also access the services from off-campus.

The mission of this non-profit organization is to improve the nation's health care system by mobilizing and enhancing the strengths and resources of the academic health center enterprise in health professions, education, patient care, and research.

www.aamc.org: Association of American Medical Colleges
The AAMC is a leading national advocate for the biomedical, behavioral, and health sciences research communities, and serves as the voice for medical education, research and health care.
